New Feature
Access Version History Through Audit Trail
As announced in previous release notes, document Version History is now accessible through Audit Trail, bringing document version changes and other audit events together in one place.
A new View side panel lets you switch between two views:
All: View the sequence of document activity recorded in Audit Trail.
Version Timeline: Focus specifically on document version history.
The existing Version History functionality remains available, including viewing differences between versions, opening a specific version, reverting to a previous version, and reviewing change summaries and justifications. The Version History menu item remains available and directs you to Audit Trail, where you can access the relevant view.
How this supports your work:
Review document changes in context.
Follow a more complete sequence of recorded activity.

Bug Fixes and Improvements
Notifications
Notifications now distinguish between informational updates and events that require more direct attention.
Improvements include:
Clearer review closure notifications. Authors receive an in-app notification when a review is closed. When the document owner closes the review, authors also receive the notification in the summary email. When the last Reviewer marks the review as completed, the notification is delivered in the app.
More consistent workflow notifications. Actions requiring direct attention, such as sending documents for review or approval, continue to trigger email notifications where applicable.
In-app notifications for informational events. Events such as creating a new draft remain in the app rather than generating summary emails.
Notifications help you stay informed about relevant quality activities while distinguishing routine updates from actions that need more direct attention.
Quality Events & CAPA
We improved CAPA navigation and the handling of related actions to make it easier to access the appropriate quality records.
Improvements include:
Updated CAPA navigation. The CAPA breadcrumb now reflects the updated CAPA title without requiring a page reload.
Working Source CAPA links. Users can open the source CAPA directly from a corrective or preventive action in My Work.
Improved Change Request linking. Corrective actions can now be linked to Change Requests where supported.
These improvements help users navigate between CAPA records and related quality activities with fewer interruptions.
Change Request Actions
We addressed issues affecting the management of actions within Change Requests.
Improvements include:
Improved action management. Fixed an issue affecting the ability to modify or unarchive actions while a Change Request is in the Planning phase.
This helps users manage actions and make the necessary updates during Change Request planning.
User Management
We updated the license selection interface in the Create User and Edit User dialogs to provide a clearer view of the available license options. Review license options more easily when creating or updating user accounts.
User Interface and System Reliability
We made several improvements to interface consistency, document loading, and access editing.
Improvements include:
Consistent input field sizing. Standardized input field dimensions to provide a more consistent interface when fields appear next to each other.
Consistent table headers. Standardized capitalization across table headers for a more uniform experience across SimplerQMS.
Improved effective PDF formatting. Fixed an issue where table headers could shift to a previous page in effective PDFs.
Faster Document Overview loading. Improved loading performance for document information in the training environment.
More reliable access editing. Improved the access editing experience so that background updates do not interrupt ongoing changes. The editor now maintains a stable editing session, and saving behavior is more predictable.
These improvements support a more consistent interface, reduce interruptions during access management, and make document information easier to access.
Document Formatting and PDF Generation
We addressed issues affecting the formatting and content of system-generated PDFs.
Improvements include:
Improved PDF formatting. Fixed formatting discrepancies in system-generated PDFs to better preserve the layout of the source document.
Correct checkbox display. Fixed an issue where selected checkboxes could be missing from effective PDF versions.
These improvements help maintain the intended appearance and content of approved documents in their effective PDF versions.
Audit Trail
We fixed an issue that could prevent the Audit Trail from opening for a specific document. Access the relevant document activity record more reliably when reviewing document history.
App Version 2.7.0 updates help make everyday quality work clearer and more consistent. By bringing document history into Audit Trail, refining notifications, addressing issues in document and quality workflows, and improving interface consistency, SimplerQMS helps you find relevant information, follow quality activities, and manage routine tasks with fewer interruptions.
