We’ve released App Version 1.9.0, focusing on improving the user experience and reliability across Document Control, approval workflows, audit trails, and reporting.

This update addresses several issues that previously affected document duplication, approvals, workflow actions, and system usability. These improvements help ensure smoother document management and more consistent system behavior when supporting your daily quality processes.

App Version 1.9.0 is available to all SimplerQMS customers as of March 30, 2026.


Bug Fixes and Improvements

Document Workflow & Status Management

Several fixes improve the reliability of document workflows and approval processes:

  • Fixed errors preventing documents from being duplicated

  • Resolved an issue causing malformed PDFs during approval workflows

  • Fixed issue preventing CAPA documents from being archived or retired

  • Resolved server error when creating a Todo with an assigned document

  • Approval now works correctly after changing a document type to require a Change Request

  • Change Request settings now correctly apply to previously drafted SOPs

These improvements help ensure document workflows progress smoothly from drafting to approval and release.


Audit Trail & Traceability

To support audit readiness and compliance transparency:

  • Audit trail now records multiple reviewers individually, ensuring each reviewer is logged separately in the document history.

This improves traceability and provides clearer documentation of review activities.


User Experience & Usability

Several updates improve navigation and usability when managing documents and system settings:

  • Fixed scrolling and search issues when managing Document Types and Groups

  • Custom fields in Word headers and footers now refresh correctly without overwriting values

These updates help provide a more consistent and predictable editing experience.


Reporting, Export & Training

Improvements have also been made to reporting and training-related workflows:

  • Resolved CSV export errors when exporting Training records

  • Fixed issue preventing creation of new users in training organizations

These fixes help ensure accurate reporting and reliable training management.


These improvements address issues that could interrupt document workflows, approvals, and reporting—areas that are critical for maintaining efficiency and audit readiness in regulated environments.
