We’re excited to share the latest SimplerQMS product improvements, designed to better support your compliance and quality processes. Your feedback continues to play an important role in shaping how SimplerQMS evolves.

These updates help your processes remain compliant, consistent, and efficient, while reducing manual steps in your daily work.

What's new:

Launch Schedule

App Version 1.3.0 is available to all SimplerQMS customers as of January 14, 2026.

Add Relations from Your Working Document

You can now add related items directly from your document while working in Microsoft Word using SimplerQMS Add-In. This capability is available for Full and Standard users.

How it works:

  1. In your working document, click the SimplerQMS icon.

  2. In the Properties tab, select Relations.

  3. Add the relevant relations.

Adding relations helps strengthen traceability across quality documentation, supporting inspection readiness and regulatory expectations.

Add Custom Properties via SimplerQMS Add-In

You can now access custom properties from SimplerQMS Add-In while working on your document in Microsoft Word. This capability is available for Full and Standard users.

How to create new custom properties for the SimplerQMS Add-In:

  1. Go to the Settings menu and select Document Types.

  2. Choose the relevant document type.

  3. Under Custom Fields, click Add Fields.

  4. Enter the label name (e.g. Site / Location) and select the data type.

  5. Toggle Required if the field is mandatory.

  6. Click Save.

This setup applies organization-wide. Once created, the new properties will appear in the SimplerQMS Add-In under the Properties tab. This helps you maintain consistency and structured metadata across all documentation.

Automatic Update After Document Check-In

Previously, you needed to manually reload the page in SimplerQMS after saving and closing a checked-out document in Word.

With this update, documents are automatically checked-in and updated in SimplerQMS metadata when you click Save and close the document in Word. No manual reload required. This reduces interruptions and saves time.

Faster Access to the Help Center

You can now access the Help Center directly while working in SimplerQMS. This capability is available for all license types.

From the Help Center menu, you can:

  • Access guidance and usage materials

  • View product release updates

This makes it easier to find answers exactly when you need them.

Other Updates to Support Your Day-to-Day Work

  • Updated Settings menu. A clearer sub-menu structure to support easier navigation and day-to-day use.

  • Updated Profile menu. Access to Account Settings and Log out is now grouped under your profile menu for a clearer and more intuitive experience.

  • Automatic template ownership. When creating a template, the creator is now automatically assigned as the owner—supporting accountability and traceability.
