Word Add-In: Properties Management & Classified Banner
You can now manage document properties directly within Microsoft Word and clearly mark classified documents, without switching back to the SimplerQMS app.
This update helps ensure consistency between your document content and metadata. This capability is available for Full and Standard license users.
How to modify document properties:
Open your working document in Microsoft Word and click the SimplerQMS icon.
In the Properties tab, select the relevant property.
Update the value and click Add to apply the change.
How to display a Classified banner:
Go to the Classified Banner tab.
Toggle on Show Classified Banner.
A Classified label will automatically appear at the top of the document.
Periodic Review
Controlled documents require regular, documented assessments to remain accurate, compliant, and effective. Periodic Review in SimplerQMS helps you manage these reviews systematically with full traceability and timely notifications.
With Periodic Review, you can:
Access a dedicated Periodic Review menu from the sidebar.
Configure whether specific document types require periodic review.
Automatically schedule reviews and notify responsible users.
These capabilities are available for Full and Standard license users.
How to configure periodic review for a document type:
Go to the Settings menu and select Types.
Choose a document type.
Enable Periodic Review Required.
Define the cadence and notification timing.
(Optional) Enable signature requirements for each review.
Save the configuration.
This setup applies organization-wide. As document owner and reviewer, you will:
Receive notifications for upcoming reviews.
See scheduled reviews in the Periodic Review menu.
Find review tasks listed on the Home page as action items.
Effectiveness Check
You can now configure Effectiveness Check at the change level type. This improvement is available for Full license users. Standard license users can configure this feature if the Change Control module is enabled.
How to apply an effectiveness check:
Go to Settings and select Change Control.
Choose a change type (e.g., Major change).
Enable the Effectiveness Check option.
Define the duration of the effectiveness check.
Click Save.
Any updates to Change Control settings will apply only to newly created change requests. Change requests created before the update will not be affected.
How will this impact your change request?
Once configured, an Effectiveness Check tab will automatically appear in relevant change requests. This allows you to:
Assess whether the implemented change achieved its intended outcome.
Document findings as part of the controlled change execution process.
